Effect come back when system is rebooted.

I have a show with a color effect in several cues that I don't want them.

I can delete them and save the show.  They go until I reboot my system and then they return.

I can repeat this problem.  One my console and on my Offline both are version 1.9.9

I type these commands........

GotoCue 65 Enter

Effect 912 @ Enter (READS... Effect 912 StopEffect Enter)

Update (cue) Enter

cue now plays  back correctly without the effect 912. I save the show with a new name.  It still plays back correctly.  I reboot the console and there the color effect is back.  This happens in multiple cues.

"Display Effect" always says the the effect is Running from the current cue number.

thanks for your help....

Gord.

  • Hmm... odd.  A couple of things.  Can you go into cue blind after you stop the effect and update and verify that the effect has been removed from the cue?   This is unrelated ... but you do know that when you delete one of the canned effects, it resets to default rather than deleting.

Is there any condition on this effect such as a duration or number of cycles?

    thanks,

  • Thanks for your help Anne.

Here is the solution I have just found after reading you post....

    Updating Cues with Submasters.....

The trick seems to be with using record cue # instead of update.

This sort of makes sense to me.  Removing something and update(merge)  would just add nothing in.  Still Weird that it wouldn't come back until I rebooted the board.

I don't think I've used conditions they are still set to infinite.

    thanks.

    Gord.
