Is it possible to assign a macro to a sub on ION?

I'm a newbie to the ION (and most all other consoles!) and trying to learn. We have an ION that has 4 older fixtures that I need a simple way for volunteers to close the shutters on in a live church service. Of course they can do it from the encoder but it would faster to do it from a sub that is always on the fader wing. I tried assigning the shutter strobe paramater to a sub with no luck. This morning a created an open macro and a closed macro that work fine. Now it's just a matter of putting those on a sub. Thanks in advance for any help!

    Macros cannot be placed on submasters, however they can be placed on Cues. Depending on how you want this to work, you could have two separate cue lists, one that opens the shutter and the other that closes. I would go into Blind to make this, create a new cue, 2/1 and look at the softkeys. There is one called Execute that you would use to have it control a macro. I would then make cue 1 link back to itself, which would simply repeat the macro. Hope this helps.
