Automod?

What, if anything, is the Eos/Ion equivalent of the Automod function on Strand Galaxy/500-series?

In other words, if channels 1 and 2 have a very similar focus, the lamp in channel 1 blows, and I want channel 2 to become a temporary substitute for channel 1 (as well as doing what it should do in its own right, on an HTP basis) until I can get to it to change the lamp in the interval ... how do I achieve that?

  • Hi Gareth

There isn't currently a way to temporary substitute one channel for another. In the past we've had lots of talk about adding this the feature so hopefully Anne will come alone and give you an ETA on when we'll see it, I'm pretty sure you're not going to see it in the next 6 months, sorry.

  • Hey Gareth (and Nick).  Yes, indeed, we have had a lot of discussion about this feature in the past.   On early versions of Eos there was a relate button - which was ultimately sacrificed for Highlight.   It will return as a softkey when implemented.  In terms of timing, am hesitant to provide projections.   This is not a particularly difficult feature if limited to the functionality you might be used to from other desks.   But we have identified a number of critical issues to work on in 2012 which will take priority.   But it IS most certainly on the list.

    :-)

    Thanks much!

  • Understood, Anne - thanks.

What about if I wanted to replace channel X in a block of cues with channel Y, copying X's programmed values onto Y while having them merge on an HTP basis rather than replacing what Y is already doing? Is there a way to achieve this?
