ION moving groups

If you open the group list (double press the group key) this works-

Group 3 copy to Group 2 enter. This will copy the contents of group 3 into group 2, it will create a group 2 if none exists.

Group 3 {Move To} Group 2 enter. This will take the contents of Group 3 and "rename" it group 2. (move to is S5)

If you are replacing the contents of group 2 the console will ask for confirmation.

i thought there was a way to swap the contents of the groups but I can't find it.

I was doing it outside the group list (live channel as well as direct selects) with no success.  Thanks.  Couldnt find it in manual.

Using Copy To with groups in live will copy the data for that group to the lights in another group.

For example, Group 1 are scrollers on the SL booms, and Group 2 are the SR scrollers.  Group 1 is set to a rainbow of colors.  Group 1 Copy To Group 2 will reverse and repeat the levels and colors to SR.

This seems really counter-intuitive. Why can't you just type Group 3 copy to Group 4 Enter? Why do you have to have the Group display visible for this to work?

outside of the Group display (e.g. in Live), the console treats Groups as a collection of channels and not as the "bucket" Group. so at the moment, Group 1 moveTo Group 2 means for the console e.g. Chan 438 + 510 MoveTo Chan 315 + 301 + 720. and while this is currently not supported syntax, it will be one day.
