Resroing Palette Views

Disclaimer! I'm wet diaper new on the IOS and this my first posting (guaranteeing a stupid question) and I'm at home without my manual.

Hi, I just updated my IOS software (quite easily) but when I rebooted I found my palette views reverted back to list form. How do I change the the Group, Position, Color, and Beam views?

  • ...So is IOS a typo for Ion, or a typo for Eos? Could go either way. I'm also assuming you're not referring to an apple device?  :)

  • I'm not too sure exactly what it is you're seeing, but in any case, try tapping the Format key for different views. I can't remember the keyboard shortcut, so if you're running offline, dig up the virtual keyboard under Displays/Virtual Controls.

  • I'm sorry, EOS, I've been up all night fretting over this and that explains my many failed searches last night!

Thanks for the scoop. Now I have something to look forward to going to work!

  • Just in case, I'll try to be more succinct. I inherited (took over) with the console already set up and running so I'm short on the learning curve.

Before I updated to 1.9.10, my console touch screens had the I,C,B,F palettes displayed in the "20/50" groupings. After updating, when I tap the I,C,B,F buttons twice I'm able to see them in list/spreadsheet form.

So I'm trying to reorganize them that I may access all of the above palettes on my two console screens.

Thanks JHarpur, I appreciate your help very much.

  • From the sounds of things, you're looking for the direct selects. You should be able to pull them up by hitting diplays/virtual controls/direct select module and from there, just [swap]-[arrowkey] into place if they're not where you want them - if you have an older show with a snapshot saved, reloading the snapshot would likely bring the screens back as you had them previously.

My experience is limited (and I mean limited!) to the Ion and Element, so there may be better, easier solutions out there from the Eos jockeys? *envy envy envy*

  • That's it! (well I won't know till I get to work) but the .pdf manual supports everything you said. Looks like I neglected to go back into the set up section thinking it was more of an advanced function. And I really need to get this nomenclature down.

Thanks again JHarpur. You made my day!
