Ext. Links and effects recorded into a cue

Hi learned fellows...

I've been away from the console while the second unit of this movie came in and used the studio.  Their operator recorded new cues at the tail end of my cues for the shots they did.  He wrote effects into his cues which is something I don't do ever - I record them onto subs so that I can modify the size on the fly.

Now, I've gone in and copied one of my cues to a new cue so that I can start to work on the looks for the main unit.  Unfortunately, I've somehow glommed onto his effects and they are recorded into my new cue.

I've pulled out the effects before on dimmer channels with the syntax Chan X Effect @ Enter.  That doesn't seem to work for a multi-parameter fixture.  What am I missing here?  I need to get the effects out of my cue...

TIA

  • You could either take the effect out by selecting that specific parameter that the effect is running on. ie: [Chanel ][x] [Focus] [Effect] [@] [Enter]

Or you could find the effect number that's running on those parameters and just take out that effect. ie: [Effect] [x] [@] [Enter]

    Hope that helps

  • Hi Sam,

Thanks, but that didn't work.  I think it has to do with the fact that I'm working on a tracking console (which I don't do often) and what that specific cue couldn't dump the ext. links because if I stop the effects in the cue, it has to track that command.  SO, to get the effects totally out of my cues, I'd have to write an intermediate cue before mine that has the stop effect commands in it.

Gotta wrap my head around tracking consoles again... That takes me back...

    Cheers,

    Phil
