Two IONs, One network, Multiple Universes

I'm working in two brand new spaces that share a network. ION #1 in the bigger space has universe 1, and ION #2 in the smaller space has Universe 2. This also means that when I add movers I will be using Universe 3 with ION #1.

How do I prevent a programmer or board op from accidentally using universes 1 and 3 in the small space, and from using Universe 2 in the large space? Is there a way to block certain dimmers on each of the consoles?

  • If this were my space I'd separate the systems into 2 networks, one per space.  Assuming (and hoping)  the consultant kept the dimmer numbering staring as 1 in each space, otherwise it becomes a PITA to remember and keep separate.

Unless you foresee having to use the consoles as backups for each other, no real advantage to one network.
