Becoming a beta tester

I'm new to this forum and mentioned to Lowell at the ETC booth at cinegear about beta testing. I'm a student at CSUF and work on the ion. I'm interested in becoming a beta tester but not sure what I have to do.

I'm interest in the GIO. There are some features on the GIO I like but feel that I could help make this better . I would love to have the opportunity to help make this product.

I look forward to hear your thoughts,

L3

  • Hello, and welcome to the Eos forum,

As far as feature requests go this forum is as good a place as any to post those requests.

There are some considerations to be taken into account when beta testing. Although everything possible is done to ensure the stability of software at the beta stage there is always a chance that some bugs will have slipped through the net. Beta code has not had such rigorous testing as released code. So if you were to beta test you would need to seek approval from the management of your organisation before you used beta software in a show situation. (this is not usually recommended with early builds of beta)

Anne Valentino is the Eos line product manager (you'll see her around here a lot!). She will add a post here when the next version of Beta code is available for public consumption.

    Thanks

    That link did not work.

Sorry about that, I though that post was in the Eos public forum but it was not. As graham said Anne Valentino will post when the beta code is available for "public consumption".

  • Hi there.  First, thank you for your interest in the product line and feature set.  As others have said, I will indeed post here when we are ready for open beta on the next software release.

I do not yet have an ETA on this, but it is likely later this summer.
