I've just had my first good-sized live show experience on this board. A few questions arose in the process:
We've become accustomed to having way plenty of Sub handles. I'm still trying to get my head around the fluid manipulation of the Eos' multiple Fader pages. At first, I thought my solution would be using Snapshots of the several pages I would use. That turned out to be not a good idea as it also records the 'state' of the pages. Next I tried Macros as a way to get to specific pages with one finger. Unfortunately, I was unable to get it to catch my keystrokes -[Fader Page] and my number. Can anyone help with creating that Macro or another idea to put Fader Pages on some DirectSelect buttons?
During the show, I ended up using a combination of Direct Select Groups and Sub handles. Once I overide a Sub level with a Group, Is there a way to return the control to the Sub?
Effects. I've been building a lot of Step Effects lately. On a recent show, it took about an hour of high stress head pounding then a call to tech support to become aware of the glitch about the Entry and Exit Fade times (the designer was adamant about having an effect fade out gracefully, but had also wanted the Entry to be immediate.) I don't see that mentioned here on the forum, but I assume that as Tech Support knows about it, someone is working on it. 1.3 maybe?
In step effects, where do I get to see all the channels that are contained in a step? It seems that I can see more of the channels if I look at the RPU's screen instead of the Facepanel's, but it is still not all of them at once. How can I add and subtract channels from those lists?
I think that it is extremely cool that I can adjust step timing while the effect is running, but here is my problem- I have a step or more highlighted in any of the time or level columns (let's say Dwell.) I change the dwell time to 1 second and observe the Effect. At this point, with the column still highlighted, I feel like I should be able to change that time repeatedly until I get it just right. However, when I type another digit it perceives me as calling up an entirely different Effect, thus kicking me out of the screen. The workaround I discovered was when I wanted to change the time again, I would arrow left or right off the column then back again. It's very frustrating if I forget to do that though. Is this deliberate?
I am also accustomed to having effects run on Subs. Is there an equivalent here? Is it multiple Cue stacks? Is there a way to designate whether an effect is LTP or HTP?
Thanks All,
Brent
