A request from the Chief LX here at Garsington.
Would anyone be interested in seeing a "Show Reset" tile in e.g. Lamp Controls, which would do this:
1. Fade out a fixture over e.g. 10s
2. Capture it in some way so that it wouldn't be affected by cues
3. Reset it, then after the allotted reset time for that fixture
4. Sneak it back in a nice subtle fashion?
(I know this could be achieved by writing macros, but each fixture takes a different time to reset, so I guess it would be good to have something that knew automatically how long that would take. I can't make it work with one macro as some of it needs to be foreground and some needs to be background). He's quite excited about the prospect of an automated process per fixture that would do it for you. He also wondered if there could be an advisory text that pops up, saying "Would you like to bring this fixture back into the show" to deal with a fixture that has been reset but is clearly still pointing in completely the wrong direction. Or even a pop up that said "is this fixture still broken? Yes/No" And if you press No, it keeps that fixture out of the show for the foreseeable!
The Freeze function from the MA was mentioned at one point as being the best way of doing this at the moment?
The main reason for him asking is when you have a really busy show, you don't necessarily have time to be pressing lots of different buttons to wheel out, reset, etc whilst also concentrating on pressing Go.
I await being laughed out of the room!
