Color time

I have recorded a simple long fade up cue on ION, and the desk has attributed a color time, of the same length doubling the cue and not letting it complete at the right time.

Any ideas why??

Thanks

  • If the desk has automatically added a color time it is because a color is changing in that cue. The cue duration doubling suggests that a light is marking its color in that cue but that it is also going to zero. What you are asking the desk to do is to fade that light to zero in the time specified and then set its color in the same time.

You could reduce the color time for the cue as a whole to say 5 secs, or put a discrete time for the color on that particular unit.

  • The fixture that is marking color does not even have to be moving.  the console will not stark the mark until the cue is complete and be default will mark at the same time that the cue was set for, thus doubling the "time" the cue runs.

My guess is your not changing a color live in the cue so just using the syntax [cue] x [Color] [time] 0 will mark the color at the end of the fade in 0 seconds.  If you are doing a live color fade there are other options that will make the light Mark quicker.

  • ok here is a better version of my answer...I need to stop working in the heat...

The fixture that is marking color does not even have to be fading.  the console will not start the mark until the cue is complete and by default will mark at the same time that the cue was set for, thus doubling the "time" the cue runs.

My guess is your not changing a color live in the cue so just using the syntax [cue] x [Color] [time] 0 will mark the color at the end of the fade in 0 seconds.  Of course you can enter any time for the Mark to happen if the change would be to loud at 0.

If you are doing a live color fade there are other options that will make the light Mark quicker.
