Fixture update request: JB P18

Dear ETC,

you already have the JB P18 in EOS. We'll probably be using some P18 in May, controlled from a GIO. Testing out those fixtures, I noticed something missing in Lamp Controls:

There's no way of changing the Cooling Mode of the fixture (other than the fixture's onscreen menu). However, another setting which is controlled via the same DMX channel, camera mode, has indeed been implemented. Would you be able to add the Cooling Mode control?

Also, while at the hire company, I was looking for the so-called Sparkle Mode in EOS but couldn't find it. In retrospect it appears you called it 'Intensity Macro' in EOS. And "IMacroRt" is apparently the P18's  "Sparkle Speed", which should theoretically include a speed slider/encoder, but doesn't, so I assume that the speed setting isn't accessible from EOS. However, I'll be unable to test that again before load-in day.

Can you check which of the P18's features are maybe missing or incomplete in EOS? The DMX protocol is here in the manual:

  • Hello,

Thank you for your submission. Looking into the profile (Mode 1 and Mode 2) I agree that there are ranges missing in DMX ch 5 "Mode" that allow for Cooling Mode changes. I have requested that the Eos team look at this and include the additional ranges in a profile update.

As far as the IMacroRT, you are correct in assuming that this is equivalent of the fixture's Sparkle Speed. If you click on the header "IMacroRT :: IMacro RT" in ML Controls a virtual encoder will appear to the left. If I have misunderstood your request please let me know.

    Best,

    Therese
