Hello, I'd like to make a Fixture Request/Library update for the JB Lighting P18 HP. (in either mode)
JB thought it might be a good Idea to change the DMX profile with the update to Software Version 1.1.2.
Rotating Gobo 6 (Gobo Wheel 2) therefore is not accessible anymore. Instead the Gobo wheel 2 is constantly rotating with maximum speed.
The fault is obviously at JB Lighting, as they didn't block the unused area of the DMX values on this channel and instead used the area from 48 to 255 for Gobo #6 but therefore there will unfortunately be the need of one fixture profile for below software Version 1.1.2 and one for 1.1.2 and above. They took the range from 128 to 255 now to add Gobo shake and continuous spin.
And watching the new manual (https://www.jb-lighting.de/download/DMX-Protokolle/P18_MK2_DMX_Protocol.pdf) with the value range for Gobo 6 still being from 48 to 127 you can tell they didn't learn from their faults and further updates might bring some new functions in DMX range 55 to 127. *facepalm*
Also they added a lot of functions to the control channel (DMX offset 5) which also might be arranged a bit more clearly. Fortunately on this channel they left the unused areas untouched so you will not suddenly experience a fixture global reset if you want to quichly change the camera mode during the show.
We temporary fixed the ranges and made modes for snap, shake and spin, but there might be other people out there suffering from the same issues created by JB.
