This is basically a reverse advanced merge -- but instead of pulling in data, you're exporting specific data to a different show file or a new show file:
Use case 1:
- When you've created a new macro or other enhancement in your current show file that you also want to be available in your "base" template show file -- you can simply export this to the base show file and continue working in your current show file.
- Currently you need to exist your current show file, open the base show file, advance merge in (after having documented your source files), and after merging, go back to your actual show file.
Use case 2:
- When you want to share a show file with just certain items (A3d model and patch) to give to students to practice on. This would enable you to export just select show file items to a blank new show file for distribution.
