Definable Zero Point

Can we make it so that we can re-define the zero point inside of A3D? Often my zero point in my drafting is a reference point rather than the center of my drawing. A3D seems to really like using the Zero point as a starting point for the camera views, especially when switching from live to blind, which makes it a pain then that point takes you far away from your sets.

I want my zero point to be downstage centre, not the centre of the floor. However, I can't move the floor to reflect this Basically I have a space 10 metres by 10 metres and I would like the zero point to be on the front edge of the floor at the centre and the 4 FPE points to be at the four corners. From there, I am sure I can build the rig, but I can't get past the first issue. Given that the zero point is so important, I need to get this sorted before I move on. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi Denis, if you grab the floor and resize it to 10mx10m and then move it to X:5 Y: 0 does that not give you what you need?

Lowell, thanks for your prompt reply. I had spent some time trying to do exactly that, but somehow couldn't manage it. It seem to be working now. I think it had to do with the camera angle. Thanks. BTW the webinars are really useful as well.

Just wondering also in relation to minimum specs for my Nomad system, which is more important, the laptop spec or the graphics card? I have sourced a good spec laptop (i7 processor) but it seems to have a run of the mill graphics card and I am not sure if there is an option to upgrade to something better.

Looking forward to more experimenting with Augment3d

Glad to hear you got it working! Have fun playing. I would say that graphics cards are going to have a bigger impact on Augment3d but processor will help your system speed overall!
