Exclude preceding text from label

When labeling things such as presets, it would be helpful to have a special character that effectively "excludes" or "hides" any text before that character when used for Direct Select and/or Magic Sheets.

For example, I might have detailed labels so when just viewing the preset or color palettes so I know specifically what it impacts, but when it comes to using it on a magic sheet that detailed label might be too verbose, and I simply need the color name, or position, etc.

I am imagining something like the double-pipe || we use for a line break, but maybe !! double bang (exclamation point) or something similar?

  • Maybe instead of an exclude, there's just a new column in the presets, palettes, effects, submaster, macros, etc that is a "target label" column. So you can have your long detailed label for yourself and a short target label that is used in Direct Selects/Magic Sheets/Faders that can be altered to fit on the display.

    Or

I saw other feature requests asking for a notes column to the presets, palettes, effects, submaster, macros, etc which could also resolve this. Where you can put your long description in the notes column and leave the label for the short labels to be used in Direct Selects/Magic Sheets/Faders.
