Flash Off button option for submasters and cue lists

There are a lot of options in Tab 36 for the fader buttons. I want to request a Flash Off button that flashes the intensity of the cue list or submaster to 0 when the button is toggled (or when the button is held, if it is a submaster whose dwell time is set to Manual).

The reason for this is that my gaffer very frequently wants a light or lights to be temporarily set to 0 so he can see what it is doing.  He wants to have his own fader wing where the bump buttons can flash to 0.

I currently have a clunky workaround involving macros but it would be nice to have a Flash Off button for my faders.

  • 1. Solo on a fader button sets everything else to 0. I definitely don't want that.

    2. Inhibitives don't work for me because they are proportional to the level in the cue. In order for it to work the way I want, the cue must have a value for those channels of 100. The instant I record a different level into the cue, the range of the inhibitive sub changes.

    3. I use Shift+Out but the gaffer doesn't have space for a keyboard on his setup.

    Thanks

  • You could do this in, at least, two ways as well:
    - Use (Fader) Solo Function
    - Use Inhibitives (While flashing them, they turn off)
    - Use [Shift]+[Out] to temporaly Flash a <selection> of Light(s) Off (this will also work with [Shift]+[Full])

I would go with the Inhibitiv, and for the Cuelist, make the Fader an int Fader, so you can go up and down.

Good layout of faders is always hard. Wish you luck with  your Gaffer.
