CIE 1931 is becoming a much more common way of communicating color on film sets. You're starting to see a lot of gaffers walking around with a color meter on their hip, and these days most new LED fixtures have a DMX profile with X,Y color mode.
Eos is great at syncing other color-related fixture parameter values as you're manipulating values the Color Picker tab, You click the R316 gel swatch and it adjusts the RGB or HSI values of the selected fixture, giving you R316 output. For some reason, CIE X and Y parameters aren't synced to the Color Picker tab in the same way.
