multi function (macro) buttons

This has probably been requested before, I can't find it

It would be great if the macro buttons on the console had more functionality if they could have a sub assigned to it and select toggle or momentary button

Or assign as a Direct select for pallets or any content

I am aware that it is possible to write macros to get this function but would be so much better to be able to quickly assign pre existing content 

Would be amazing

I'm missing my independents from Congo a shielded Sub assigned here would give me that function
