Patch: Add “circuit” as a new fundamental data input field in Patch.
Facilities that were early adopters of LED technology are getting to the point where fixtures and devices are going to begin to fail.The more information the console can provide about a fixture or device (without having to refer to a different set of paperwork), the less time can be wasted on troubleshooting an issue.
Facilities that may not yet have transitioned to primarily LED would greatly benefit from having as many built-in data fields to properly document all aspects of a fixture or device.
We have discussed this a bit internally and believe this will be largely solved with an SCR already on the books for managing power (not dimmer) systems. Details will be forthcoming.
That is currently the method I use, however I am not a fan of needing to rely on queries to determine where a group of fixtures are circuited...the loss of a text field in database for a piece of data that is somewhat fundamental part a lighting rig is a bit depressing.
It might be that Text1 thru Text10 could be used for either circuit or dimmer depending on venue to provide this functionality. These can be added to magic sheet channel symbols or used in Query/Text. Also, I found it very useful to include a magic sheet with a PDF of the plot with all the information for each fixture.
