Feature and improvement suggestions

Feedback from users like you help us shape and improve Eos for all productions. We receive a large number of feature requests and suggestions from many sources, including this forum. Your comments and votes help us understand which features you’re passionate about, but there are many additional factors which inform development prioritization for any given release.

The most helpful information you can provide us when commenting on issues is how a particular suggestion would help you. If you describe your use-case and how the suggested change would benefit your work, it lets us gain a much deeper understanding of the need behind the suggestion. Suggestions often have an impact on what we work on, even if we ultimately choose not to implement a suggestion exactly as it’s described. Our ultimate goal is to understand what you and all users need and to create solutions that meet those needs. Occasionally, that’ll mean implementing a suggestion as described, but it usually means working to understand the need behind the suggestion and how we can meet that need for as many users as possible.

While we endeavor to update and respond to popular suggestions, the volume we receive means there will be occasions when we can’t provide an update or response in a timely manner. For bugs and show-critical issues, please use our standard forums and support structures: https://www.etcconnect.com/Contact/Technical-Support.aspx

When making edits to a fixture, it would be useful if in addition to the "save fixture" option there was a "save as fixture" option that would save a NEW fixture type. Right now, if you go to edit a fixture and you realize AFTER making edits that you...
  • Macro Editor - Copy and Paste

I'd love the ability to copy and paste commands in the macro editor window. From within the same macro, and from another macro to another macro. I'd like to be able to learn a macro and copy those functions into another much larger macro.
  • RDM over ArtNet

Hey, I'd like to be able to use RDM over ArtNet. Especially for third party RDM enabled ArtNet nodes. Especially because every rental company rents one out. Thanks Lars
  • Highlight Timing

It would be great if there was an additional manual timing setting for "Highlight Time". Highlighting is one of the most jarring things we do on stage during technical rehearsals, and it would be great if we could fade into the highlight state instead...
  • Update Trace should show which cues will be updated

Currently (v3.2.9), the CIA does not change when the Trace keyword is added or not. Using Update Trace, I would find it helpful to know which cues will be updated, with multiples lines if several cues are concerned.
  • Add "Notes" function to parked channels

How many times have you sat down at your desk after someone else has been covering you or has touched your board for one reason or another and thought "Huh, I wonder why this channel is parked?" The thought crossed my mind while mousing over a note...
  • Magic sheets on a tablet?

Has anyone given thought to the idea of being able to use magic sheets on a tablet? I don’t know if or how it could be done but think it could be a help. Thoughts
  • Able to run effects in Staging Mode

Hi, it’s not possible to run effects when in Staging Mode. Would be very helpful if that’s possible
  • CIE X,Y Virtual Controls on Encoders

It would be really fantastic if it was possible to put the virtual x,y values on encoder wheels so that we could manually input the data instead of clicking until it gets close.

I know you guys cant pass up the opportunity to 1 up Act Lighting! ;) If this is a little performance intensive, an option in the graphics menu would suffice, and maybe just include it in the PC version of the software. Really like the tool so far, very...
