Link options on express boards

Hi there. Hoping someone can help. I am using conventional lights on Universe 1 and moving lights on Universe 2. I had made a bunch of cues on the conventional lights before the rental of the moving lights and I don;t want to lose those. I now have my conventional cues (ie. 1,2,3 etc.) and I have my moving light cues (ie. 200,201,202 etc.) and I want to incorporate my moving light cues into the conventional cues. I have used LINK, and that works great, BUT after the link is done, I want the cues to go back to the original number (ie. I link CUE 4 with CUE 200 and press the A/B fader go button....after cue 200 is played, the next cue to run would be 201, however, I want it to be CUE 5.

Any solutions for this, so that I don;t have to manually type the cues each time I link??

Thanks. Golden

  • Copy each of the ML cues to individual Groups.  Then bring up Cue 1 on stage and recall the Group (Group - 200 - @ - Full) and re-record or Update Cue 1, then repeat.

  • Thanks for the info. Will this work if subroutines were used in the cues? Not sure if subroutines will copy to the group, or just the first cue in the subroutine. I did try something like that, and I only got the first cue of the subroutine steps...

  • Group only captures a static look (from a cue in this instance).  If a cue has channels moving and you record to Group, the record captures at the moment of the record process, whatever value the channels may be at.  Thus a running Subroutine will get "something" captured.

Since the Subroutines are merely other cues that are being referenced by the operational cue (essentially as Effects steps) I would re-record the ML cues to the merged static cues, then re-assign/record the "new" merged cue with the existing Subroutines.

    Never done this though
