If you drill down into the task status window there will probably be additional details available. Most likely your catalyst machine is not responding to HTTP requests in a timely fashion.
Catalyst thumbnail transfer software (on the mac) just responds to one master fetch of 0serverip:8080/catws/files.html The page returned has entries that look like MovieInfo folder=000 file=000 name="000openwhite.pct"
You can then get a thumbnail by - in this example - asking for serverip:8080//catws/Images/xxx_yyy.jpg (xxx=000, yyy=000). If you can't do this from your webbrowser, then neither can the DP.
Umm... so I can see the details described in the first link you mention, but can't see the results box the second. In my case IP is 10.0.0.201 folder is 007 and file is 021.mov so my string should be 10.0.0.201:8080//catws/Images/007_021.jpg ?
The problem in 3.14 was that the ability to media patch a fixture to a DP had been removed (by accident). Ross your error message hints to me that you are already media patched. Yes - your URL looks good, you should get an image back in your webbrowser.
I’m using 3.15. I’m not getting anything back with my web browser on that url, but I am getting the previous page. I’ll have to investigate further. Interestingly the media server has not changed settings since it last worked correctly with the console on previous s/w. My laptop and the overall network has changed however. I’ll try again tomorrow when I’m back with the systems.
Hey Ross, I checked Catalyst thumbs in the beta of 3.15 and it was working. If your webbrowser cant access the thumbs then there is another issue. Try it directly local on your cat, see if thumbs are shown there. There is a link to the webserver directly in the Cat software. By replacing the 127.0.0.1 or Localhost to any other IP you can access these sites for any other connected server
Thanks Marc removing the extra “/“ fixed the issue on the laptop so I can now correctly pull up thumbnails over the network on my laptop but the rig I also issue with the console not getting them persists
