Bug Report Hog 5.0.1 Encoder buttons and Encoder press not working for "Set"

I know this was reported in 5.0.0 and reportedly fixed in 5.0.1, but I can confirm that the problem still exists.

On a Stage Hog running 5.0.1

Encoder buttons work as expected in all modes EXCEPT "set" mode.

When in "set" mode, encoder buttons have no effect. Cannot manually enter values upon encoder button press

This is also true for the encoder when the preference is "set". Nothing happens.

  • I'm using a Stage Hog and running 5.0.1b150 and Set is working by pressing the Encoder. If you're looking for the old style text entry that popped up that's gone. They've introduced a new interface for direct entry that's mentioned in the release notes. "The method for activating direct entry on the encoder wheels has not changed but the classic vertical pop-up menu has been replaced with an embedded large display that can be used for value entry and slot selection along with contextual helper buttons such as plus/minus and min/max."

On Stage Hog it opens at the top of the Programmer Dashboard. Currently it doesn't show up on the Virtual Programmer Dashboard on HogPC so if you're using that you'll see nothing happen. However if you press Setup+0 to display the Design Toolbar on HogPC you'll see the new direct entry bar there.

If you don't see it on the Programmer Dashboard of your Stage Hog I'd be curious if it pops up if you open the Design Toolbar.

  • Ok. I see what you mean now. I had to hit Setup "0" to open the panel that is a duplicate to the small screen on the Stage Hog. I have that normally off of my monitor because it takes up valuable screen real estate and is redundant if you have the dashboard screen. Except in this instance when the "set" information only pops up on the panel that shows up on the monitor instead of the dashboard screen. If that panel isn't on the monitor, then I don't see any feedback at all when I hit the encoder button. See pics.
