Sometimes our ColorPro HX lights lose track of where a wheel is and I would like to home the fixture in order to get things reset. I do this on our Hog 500 by going into the BEAM settings and selecting HOME and then closing the shutter. Unfortunately this often has the side effect of turning off the lamp. Is there a way to avoid this? Am I using the wrong procedure to home the light?
Use blind, set the shutter closed, and the control channel to home, Un blind the desk until the fixture starts to home, and press clear.
That should keep you from accidentally going to any other control setting, Conversely, I usually make a Home Pallette, as well as a lamp off, and lamp on, so I would just use those instead of using the encoders.
My typical procedure was to leave the strobe open, set the control to what I wanted and then close the strobe. This also avoid sending unintended controls.
It seems that simply closing the strobe can cause them to lamp off, so anything I try to do in conjunction with that has the side effect of turning off the lamp.
