When i connect my Hog remote the remote says its searching for console and the console locks up. If i turn it off and then back on it locks up when it says testing memory......looks ok or something like that. The only way i get it unstuck is when i push the reset button in the back, but every time i have done that i unplug the remote first. Any idea on what is going on. I checked the fuses and the desklamp fuse is blown, i dont know if that makes a difference or not. I will replace it tomm, but i really need the remote, i hate making 100 trips back and forth from the catwalk to the booth.
A couple of possibilities are a faulty remote cable or a problem on the rear panel pcb of the console. It may also be the remote itself. You may want to try a different cable and if that doesn't help try the remote on a different console if you have access to one to help isolate the problem to the console or the remote.
Turns out the desk light fuse was blown, as soon as i replaced it and powered up the console and attached the remote, it found the remote and was happy. Now what i have noticed is when i plug in the little lite into the console or remote, the fuse blows. What wattage bulb is supposed to be in the little light for the remote, and little light for the console.
I doubt if it is the bulb. it is probably a short in the wiring in the flexible part of the Little Lite or it could be a non original equipment brand of light. I have seen non Little Lite brand lights that are wired differently than Little Lites.
I have this happen all the time on my hog 2's. If you put a high intensity lamp in the hog 2 desklight, It will often blow the fuse if you plug it in hot. Usually it will not blow if it is a "normal" littlelight lamp, or if you make sure the desk is off when the desklamp is plugged in. all my desks have spare fuses with them, since it happens pretty often.
If you need to replace the light, you might want to consider the LED LittleLights. Yeah, more money, but the light output is great, lower current, dim just fine, and no more bulbs to burn out or break . . .

Is the Hog 2 dimmer that different from the 500 and 1000? They work perfectly there . . . and they are designed to be direct drop in replacements for the incandescent variety. Have you tried this, or ? ? ?
Hmmmm . . . my bad on that one! Never needed to dim an H2, so just concluded they worked the same way . . . The LED would still work, though, and so I stand by my recommendation . . . they give very nice light, with lower current than the incands, and no more dead bulbs . . . Spendy little bastards, though . . .
