iPc extremly slow

Hog iPc, 3.04, connected playbackwing, third monitor elo touch

Graphic refreshs very slow, somtimes some seconds, also command entrys. I have use 4 universes. The peformence of the desk is unaccepteble. Could that have something to do with the third monitor?

Marco
  • Potentially......try disconnecting it and disabling the third monitor from the Contol Panel to see if it helps.
  • Hi,
New Show or old show merged into 3.04?
Using the internal DP or external DP/widget?
Windows open underneath under windows possibly in views?

Copying files and saving shows is really really slow up to a minute to copy from USB to IPC hard drive....

  • I have just had the same thing on my IPC running 3.0.4, I had a external ELO touch screen connected that was full of scenes the desks output became so slow and the screen refresh rate was about 5 seconds behind button pushes it was impossible to run a show, If I closed the scene window this seemed to help. It seemed to be the scenes window that was running the desk slow because if I put cue list up on the screen performance was fine also Mitch from HES/BARCO suggested I change the resolution of the monitor to a lower res, I have yet to try this.......... Funny thing is though I ran the same setup on V2.6.0 and did not notice any problems ???? are you running scenes on your IPC ?
  • Do either of you have the output window open?

Please provide more details about what is slow, and under what conditions. Is it always slow, or only when certain windows or views are open.

Please try version 3.05. 3.05 fixed an issue where feedback in the output window could be delayed by 10 or more seconds when the console is not connected to a network.
  • ok, ok. more details:

-it was a new show, programmed on 3.04.
-I do not use any scenes.
    -it was always slow.
    -nothing merged
    -internal DP
    -third monitor with a resolution 1024x 7..?
-the ipc had a very high temperature
    - goto cue was done in maybe 5 seconds
    - no outputwindow open
    - a second ipc in a network connection, but if it was disconnect it was the same problem
  • Check and make sure all the fans are running properly.. Including the one cooling the processor.. It will get mildly warm, but shouldn't ever get hot (unless in direct sunlight)..
  • For my situation:

    It was a new show,
    programmed on 3.0.4,
only open windows were pallets and scenes on the external screen
IPC was warm but not hot,
    10 Fader wing connected,
    4 pages of programming,
external screen was flickering a lot, more so as I added more scenes,
  • 3.0.5 seemed to improve the feedback on the external screen on my iPC. I reverted back just to check, and it seems it only slows down when I have the touch screen USB connected. Using it as only a display fixed the issue. It's fine in 3.0.5 however.

The behavior came about much like versions prior to 2.6, whereas the effects window, patch window, etc, were opened at the same time.
  • I have seen incorrect BIOS settings cause an iPC to run slow but I think the fact you said the console was hot may indicate something else. The processor fan may not be working properly causing the porcessor to overheat, or there could also be a cable or something blocking the fan. This is just one possibility. Have you opened the console and looked inside?
