Full Universe of LEDS

Hi All

Just wanted piece of mind really, about to do a show where one of my universes will be full of LED fixtures. Anyone had any experiences with the amount of LED on a RoadHog. Will it cope ok with effects chases etc??

Cheers

  • I don't work with the regular RoadHogs much, but I wouldn't be concerned. There is plenty of processing power there.

It would only worry me if you were using a DP-2000.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Hi Skier,

I have just finished a week with a Full Boar and it was very fast. I dont think you will see any speed problems whatsoever with the Road Hogs.

I have started to go off the rule of 1024 LTP channels on a DP-2000 to make sure I am not hit by any speed issues.

The RH ahd RHFB use different processors and motherboards.

Road Hogs use Celeron-D series processors, and Full Boars use a Core 2 Duo.

Hmm. I have used both and never noticed any difference in speed. Then again a FB can process more. Either way Eric, I think both are great! You guys certainly did a good job whatever is inside them!

I personally would cut that number in half for HTP channels, and make sure that that is the only thing on that particular DP.....and even then I'm sure I would find a way to make the DMX output "hiccup".;)

FYI....no such issues on RHFB or DP-8000.

Hopefully by next April, I will have bought my own Full Boar AND DP8000. I absolutely love them!
