Hog 3 + Dp2000 + all night rave

Hi,

There is no way you can have ArtNet out of the Hog III without a DP-8000. You could of course go DMX to Artnet converter, but the i suppose it is easier to get a DMX input device for the Archaos.

The DP-2K has recently had work done to cope better with "keeping Up". But a DP-8000 is a very good upgrade to your system. (8 Native DMX and 8 Artnet + superior processing speed)
I suggest to get a DP-8000 asap and use the DP-2K as ArtNet Output node,

Thanks for the reply....there is no doubt in my mind the dp8k is a great upgrade...however having just spent all my money on the desk it will have to wait..i am hoping that for most of my shows as described above this will do me fine?

The HOG3 outputs either ARTNET or HOGNET

When in HOGNET mode ... the DP2000 (or 8000) does all the DMX data processing external to the console

When in ARTNET mode, the console does all the dmx data processing inside the console.

The Wholehog III does not do any DMX processing. It must be used with external DPs or as a network client to another console. The Wholehog III by itself cannot generate Art-Net.

There isn't really a "Mode" on the console. The Wholehog III always interacts with external DPs that do the DMX processing.

The Road Hog Full Boar and other PC based consoles run a Virtual DP internally.


When you say "Art-Net Mode", perhaps you're thinking of the Art-Net feature of the DP2000. This allows the DP2000 to receive Art-Net sent by another device. It's primarily intended to let users with older DP2000s use their 2000s to access the extra universes from the DP8000 or RHFB.

so the dp2k worked great all night not a single problem with the desk...very happy.
and we have figured out how to get arkaos to work with the dp2k...very happy about that too :)

Work just got a bunch of these crap elation movers in and our road hog doesn't have a fixture profile for it. Does anyone know if there is one or where I could get it. Don't see it on the flying pig site.

even if you did buy them....everyone starts somewhere...i know i have owned a few cheapo lights...and i am thankful they were around...anyway you should find the dmx chart for these lights and post a message in the library requests section with dmx chart attached...hope that helps.
