Views 3.2.1

When you record your View, if the Views Directory is open it will get recorded into your View along with any other open windows (expected behavior).

If you have "Front palette window when kind pressed" from Preferences enabled, then when you select a View you have just selected that "kind" so the Views Directory should front and take focus.

Don't open the "View" directory manually before recording your view. So, open the windows and place them how you prefer, press RECORD, press VIEW (now the View directory should open), and press the View-slot you would like to record. Now the View directory should close again - and is not recorded into the View.

I agree it is a pain if you don't want it there, but I'm pretty sure it has always been this way on Hog-3.
Best thing to do is make sure the Views Directory is closed when you want to record a new View.
Then hold RECORD and select an empty slot from the Views toolbar on the top left screen.

I typically only Open the Views directory to Copy or Move Views to different locations as well as to change options (additive vs non-additive, etc).
