Ok so possibly a step too far but is there any way I could be allowed to view the midi history incoming to my server console from the client? Thanks again for the existing midi viewer really helping me on my current show with 1200 midi cues.
Are you wanting to save the midi viewer log so you can open it later (you can currently do this) or are you wanting the midi viewer to always show the history of what midi triggers have entered the desk? Can you explain the problem you are running into and how this would help, just want to get on the same page as you.
Hi Michael the midi viewer works perfectly however for obvious reasons only displays incoming midi when you are looking at the server. I was logged in on a client console for programming (midi plugged into server) and I was wondering if I could view the incoming messages remotely as if I were working on the server console?
The MIDI viewer is just a simplified version of the Event viewer that's preconfigured to show only MIDI activity.
If you open the Event viewer, you should be able to see MIDI activity from any console on the network. Right click in the header and choose "sources" to change what messages you see if the MIDI data is getting lost in the flood. There are a ton of options, but I believe MIDI is under the "Critical" tab.
I don't have two consoles in front of me at the moment to test this, but I'm pretty sure it will work.
