Wholehog 3 & USB DMX?

I have a Wholehog 3. Updated it to 3.2.6, and loaded the scenes from my ailing Roadhog. I picked up one of the black HOG DMX USB nodes so it can talk to my lights. Hog3PC sees it and operates. Wholehog desk does not. The Setup/Network window says DMX Processor Processor not found, unlike Hog3PC which says found. Am I doing something wrong, or does the Wholehog 3 not support USB widgets?

To my knowledge Whole Hog 3 has no onboard processing ability. You will need an external DP8000 to get output

Doesn't the USB DMX widget do that? That's all Hog3PC from the same era needs.

The USB dmx widget has no processing power it's just an extra port for a processor to get physical DMX out of, like if you needed a DMX cable for universe 9 instead of ethernet

So they put a virtual DP8000 in Hog3PC for free, but not in what I'm guessing was their top of the line console at the time? wtf. Is this documented someplace I should have found it? Would a DP2000 work?
