Updating the Firmware on a SmartFade ML - Will I Lose Settings?

There is always a possibility of losing your saved information. Equipment breaks, gets coffee spills and even stolen.

You should make a back up copy (or 2 or 3) of your "shows" to the memory card. If you don't have an SD memory card, get one ASAP. The smallest and cheapest kind will do very well. Keep one copy safe in a drawer some where "just in case." 

If you have a backup copy in another building not even a fire can cause you to lose your programming.

Yes, I know for sure:  You will lose all the data in the board if you do a firmware upgrade.  You need to save the show file on an SD card, or connect via SmartSoft and save to a PC/MAC.
