Updating the Firmware on a SmartFade ML - Will I Lose Settings?

I'm looking at updating the firmware on our SmartFade ML but I need to know whether or not this will cause us to lose scenes, etc. that we've programmed into the controller.

Anybody know - for sure?

  • There is always a possibility of losing your saved information. Equipment breaks, gets coffee spills and even stolen.

    You should make a back up copy (or 2 or 3) of your "shows" to the memory card. If you don't have an SD memory card, get one ASAP. The smallest and cheapest kind will do very well. Keep one copy safe in a drawer some where "just in case." 

    If you have a backup copy in another building not even a fire can cause you to lose your programming.
