HES SolaPix 7's & 19's "green flash" on dim.

Has anyone else experienced this? When removing intensity with amber I get a green flash when dimming but nothing green when flashing. Any ideas?

  • Hi

Thank you for reaching out with a video. I want to get more information to better understand how you are using the fixture.

A few questions that came up:

What is the fixture software version?

    Fixture serial number?

    Control console being used?

Is this happening when the dimmer is used or when a color fade is being used?

    Here to help.

    Kindly,

    Wyatt

  • Hey thanks for getting ack to me. Answers below.

What is the fixture software version?

*Solapix 19xt is ver. 1.0.2 and Solapix 7 is ver. 1.3.1

    Fixture serial number?

    Pix19- 5509922030996

    pix7- 5509920050119

hoeever this is happening with more than just these two fixtures in the video.

Control console being used? Both GrandMa3 and Chamsys have been tested with this issue

Is this happening when the dimmer is used or when a color fade is being used?

Both. The video is dimmer. It also occurred during an amber chase color fade.

    thank you!!

  • No problem, happy to help out

Thank you for all of the information, this is helpful.

I recommend switching the PMW mode in the fixture settings. This may help mitigate some of the color shift.

Basically what we see happening with a mixed color is 8-bit DMX values 0 to 255 are converted to 0 - 100%. When fading a mixed color, for instance 100% Green and 50% Red, it is more noticeable since both colors are not at the same level. We can also see this phenomenon with other mixed color combinations as well.
