Cyberlight DMX Problem :(

I don't have Cybers, but on a lot of the HES stuff, it is socketed - pull the old one out, plug the new one in. The schematic shows it as being on the logic card, so it should be just a matter of getting to the card . . . hopefully, others who have been in Cybers will give you more specific info (Studio Colors, X-Spots, and Intellabeams, those I know "intimately" . . . . . ).

The chip is just socketed onto the board. Try replacing the chip IC9. You can get a replacement from highend, or lightparts. If that does not work, replace chip number 21. The chips are not expensive at all.

Try to e-tape the two XLR bodies to eachother when they are plugged in. It puts just the right strain on something inside and the unit may pass data.

Not the best answer I know, but something that I remembered from my touring days. May get you up and running in a quick pinch.
