Studio Color 575 lamp issue

You ought to hear the relay kick in.

Did you replace both fuses?
Did you reset the lamp hours?

Just a note, I was dealing with almost the same issue. My LPS would Strike, you would see the lamp glow, and then it would go out, and show "timeout" on the front display. I found that if I kept manualy pushing "strike softkey" on the menu when it first striked, it would "sort-of-Latch?" (I mean it would stay on, then start to hum as it increased the ampreage, and power up to full brightness)" and finally warm up to full power, and make the proper buzz-hum sound, but only if I kept pressing the strike repeatedly on the front panel under the menu. It would not work via DMX for strike, because it would only try just once to strike.

Took out the LPS, and tried it in my other fixture with the same result.

I sent the LPS, and ignitor out for repair to HES, Igniter was fine, but they were unable to fix the LPS, so I acquiring another LPS, and it works fine now.

Were these at 120v or 220. I seriously prefer 220 on all fixtures 500w and over. I get better service and performance in the long run.

Mine are 120V

Spend the money to go to 220v. Less problems.

I dont hear the relay click in , the fuses are fine , i've changed the lamp , does it matter if i reset the lamp hours ???

because for some reason i didn't, probably got carried away with other MAJOR troubleshooting , i mean why should a fixture not ignite if the lamp hours are over the lamp hours life ?? i wonder :confused:

Because lamp explosions are no fun, so some mfg's give you the option to have the light fail to strike lest lazy techs ignore them long enough that you get major damage!
