Studio Spot 575 - Issues removing motors

Hi,

I'm trying to do a complete breakdown and clean of quite a few 575's and am running into issues with removing the stepper motors where one screw on each seems to not want to move, and obviously I don't want to strip the head as drilling it out would be more work.

I'm wondering if a dab of glue is placed on one of them which is causing the issue - either that or I'm just having a run of bad luck with the 14 or so I've tried so far.

Anyone got any suggestions?

  • Okay, i have two solutions to this problem,

1- Make sure all the glass components are removed, then place the screwdriver on the screw and hammer it and try to unscrew it,

2- with a small hack saw try to saw a diagonal on the tip of the screw and then use a straight screwdriver to unscrew it, this one should work

Btw, when the screw seems to be jammed before damaging the tip, try spraying some WD40 on them, and screw them a bit clockwise then unscrew then anti cloackwise.

    Hope i've helped you
