Studio Spot 575 problems

We have been having problems with our Studio Spot 575s for a while now and I cannot figure out what is going on. During the middle of a show, the lamp of one will randomly go out and give an ERR LITE OUT message. The bulb is not bad at all, its new and we've checked it. Now here's the kicker. We have two on a breaker for our permanent install, so when I douse the lamp of the second to breaker them off and then back on, the one giving the ERR LITE OUT is perfectly fine, but then the second light that was not having problems at all is now giving the ERR LITE OUT message. Does anyone have any answers, I've tried everything. We are using a Wholehog 2 with the 575s. Thinking it could be a ballast issue, but on every light? Thats what I have a hard time believing.

Thanks!
  • Thanks Chris for that thought. I thought that could be the case as well, and I checked many times for that but it has always been on idle. The funny thing is, it happened again so I powered down the console and lights, turned the console on, nothing running at that point, breakered on the lights and all but one of my fixtures were flashing ERR LITE OUT. Then I got most working, then one of my colleagues was running a show and had two fixtures flashing ERR LITE OUT and randomly in the middle of the show the error went away and the fixture came back on.

Unless something changed, the Studio-whatever 575's don't hot restrike, so the error on power cycle is to be expected until the lamp cools enough to restrike. And what voltage are you running these on?

And have you tried sending 'lampon' on the control channel to the one which is out (after time to cool)? The result should be the same as power cycling, without dumping the other fixture sharing the circuit.

  • heres one for you..after set up i have my hogpc program running sending signal to all my fixtures.. i power on everything on my truss.. my studios home and everything is ready to go. But for some reason i get that same error message from one studio spot AND heres the kicker.. the lamp strikes, stays on, and never goes out.. i run a 4 hour show not counting programming and all that.. so usually i just go up to the fixture and go to the menu then turn the display off.. if it aint broke dont fix it i guess..
