DML

Don't point them straight down.....the lens will most likely get stuck.
I personally prefer hooking up an AXON to each fixture instead of the crappy cut down Hippo that comes built in with them.

More info Marty....do they work or should i be asking for a DL3??
Are they bright is the 12,000 lumens accurate or not.
Are they a good moving light projector?

They do work, and they are brighter than DL.3. I would say that DL.3 is more reliable/rugged though.

DML also has no camera if that matters.

Why dont you just ask Mark to get a DL.3 and a DML then put them side by side at TMB with Jens? See for yourself..?

XL Video have had both I think, so it may be worth ringing them and asking them what they thought?

Joe i think you may have information that is incorrect.
Don't think anybody has DL3 fixtures available in the UK until the end of August 09.
Putting two fixtures side by side in a warehouse is not the same as someone using them onsite where you actually find out what works and what does not like the lense not really working as marty mentioned.

I was explicity told XL have had both, but the DLs were sourced from out of the UK for just one tour they did with XL. I am sure they have DMLs.

Fair enough on the demo front. Just a thought :)

I just want to refer to your post on lenses, this problem is since long gone and was a problem of the Beta Version of the DML-1200 that you early tested for us.
And the MediaServer, EMP can be deployed and used in two modes the Barco Mode who has a reduced set of original features, but added a few nice things like CrossFade on Layer, witch eases up programing. Or you can run it in FULL Original Hippotizer Express with 4 Layers.

Dear Cormac On the topic of DML-1200 in XL-Video, they DO have them, however XL Video is a big company and has several warehouses.
In XL you can get in touch with Chris Ferrante who knows the whereabouts on them.

During the Autumn we will have a increased number of demonstrations in UK, so if you are interested there is a chance we can fit you in?

Well that's very good news regarding the lens Abbe.

I still have a great dislike of the whole Hippo system and will be using AXONs instead wherever possible.
