Broken DMX pin

I have a CS PAR and discovered that in the male port on the back, pin 5 has broken off. Is it vital that I replace the DMX port in order to use the fixture? Or will I get by?

DMX uses only the first three connectors of the 5-pin XLR connector, so I would expect that you will be fine without pin #5.

If you are missing one of the first three pins, you'll need to replace the port. If that broken-off pin is twisted sideways rather than being entirely gone, it will keep the female plug from fitting in properly and you might still need that port replaced.
