Feature Request: Redshift in Direct Mode - Source 4 LED Series 3 Lustr X8

Hi,

I have 15 S4LED Series 3 Lustr X8's and I'm having the issue of wanting to have the redshift emulation while controlling the fixture in direct mode. In the manual it describes that the redshift modes just use their normal counter parts when in direct, however, as someone who likes to control all my fixtures in direct mode I also want to be able to make use of the redshift as it is one of the main reasons I purchased these fixtures in the first place. I realize that this may not be something that many people will want, so if it would make sense to do this as an experimental firmware build then it would be great to get some direction on how to proceed with something like that. Thank you!

  • I'm not sure what console you are using, but you could fake this in the cue list, just set you colour in the out fade as warmer than your base colour. I do this all the time on series 2 Lustr fixtures to make them look like incandescent S4s. In the base cue I'll set them off in amber, then I'll have a sub that brings them to full and fades to warm white. With the fresnel adapters they look like real PAR cans. The you just have to put a fade up and down time on the sub.

  • I run an Element 2 at my theatre, so this wouldn't be a viable solution. Additionally, having to use a fader to dim the fixture is too clunky and won't produce the effect I'm looking for here, as I want this to work regardless of the color being outputted. And I want this to be done at will as there are instances where I wouldn't use it, which is the nice thing about the Dimming Curve being a DMX parameter, as it can be recorded in cues. So, ideally what I want is to be able to do this in firmware and not on the console as trying to get the console to behave a certain way is more cumbersome (and the EOS dev team already have their hands tied up in 3.4) and it also won't work across console manufacturers.
