UpdaterAtor not reading USB485 whip

Hi all,

I am in some dire need of assistance regarding the interface between the UpdaterAtor program and the USB485 whip.

The problem I'm experiencing is that the UpdaterAtor(4.3.1.9.0.3) program on my Win8 laptop is just not reading the USB whip. The drivers seems to be installed correctly since in "device manager" it gets picked up as an "ETC update dongle" which I'm sure is correct. I have done the whole procedure of restarting after installing, and it is plugged into a LED S4 which is powerd up.

I have also tried using it on a Win7 pc in which the same happens, meaning the device is read as ETC update dongle but UpdaterAtor does not seem to see the dongle

Please help

  • Hello Jannie,

If the whip doesn't work in another computer, then the most likely explanation is it's faulty.

What colour is the LED when you plug the whip in (All programs closed) and does it flash?

if you open DMX_Comm_Tool.exe from the C:\Program Files\ETC\software upgrades\Adapter_Support directory (installed with Universal downloader which should be on the CD that came with it). What is the output from the log window.

    Regards,
