Response Gateway as Splitter

Is it possible to configure a 4 port gateway as a stand alone splitter for a guest console that only speaks DMX through one universe?

I mean to configure one port as DMX IN and the other three as DMX OUT and use the gateway without a ethernet connection.

Naturally. Use Concert Software to configure exactly as you have described.

You will need to use an Ethernet Connection to configure, but then after its configured,

then no more Ethernet is needed.

It's worth nothing that this feature was accidentally removed in firmware v7.0.0, but will be restored in v7.0.1
It is however it is available in the previous release v6.0.1

To clarify, yes this can be done in firmware v7.0.0 but you need to have the gateway connected to a network switch/hub. Even if the switch/hub has nothing else connected to it, the gateway needs the network connection.

As Marcus pointed out to me, a loopback cable could be used too. Basically the gateway needs the ethernet port to be active, but doesn't need to use the ethernet port to send/receive.
