Accessing Paradigm through the ION

Hi All , i need to access a file in a paradigm system through an ION controller.

Is there a 'how to' or a section in a manual somewhere which outlines this procedure?

Thank you in advance

Sean

  • You probably don't need Light Designer for this.

Paradigm has "Record Snapshot" functions that are often assigned to buttons by the commissioning engineer.

If the commissioning engineer has configured some buttons to have this Record function, it is trivial:

    1. Set up the look using the Ion
    2. Press the Record button on the Paradigm station
    3. Press the Preset button to record onto
      • The Preset has now been updated with the new levels!

    - However there are several other ways to do this that the commissioning engineer may have chosen instead.
As Paradigm is extremely flexible there are an almost infinite number of ways to offer this functionality!

You should contact the ETC Authorised Service Centre who commissioned the system in the first instance.
They will be able to tell you if there are button(s) for this (perhaps requiring a pincode) or if they have given you some other method for re-recording Presets in your Paradigm system.

If they don't know or can't remember, phone your local ETC technical support.
You'll want to be in front of the Paradigm processor with a USB stick in case we don't have a copy of your config in our records.

  • Another Option to look into is LocalAccess. There is a web UI built into Paradigm processors. If you connect a computer to the lighting network you can browse into the Processor through your web browser ( typically  10.101.10.101). Via LocalAccess you can make many of the changes you are asking about.  A tutorial video is available here.

This is just another method to make these changes on site.
