Congo hardware owners - please WAIT to install version 7.1.0!

Hi all -

We have discovered an issue that SOME Congo consoles (Congo, Congo jr, Congo Kid, Congo Light Server) may have a problem when installing the new version 7.1 software. We are working on a solution and will post here when it is solved (which should be very soon). In the meantime, please WAIT until we state that the problem has been solved before installing v7.1.

Thanks very much -

Sarah

  • Hi all -

We have discovered that consoles with the latest version of Gateway Configuration Editor (v3.1.2) installed do not display the installation problem with Cobalt v7.1. Gateway Configuration Editor can be downloaded here. If you have already installed Cobalt v7.1 and encountered the error, please contact technical services and we will help you get the console straightened out ASAP.

  • Is the Gateway Configuration Editor installed as part of the Cobalt software package, or is it installed separately? If it's not part of the Colbalt package,  I've not installed it on mine unless it was installed at the factory during a recent repair.

  • No, the Cobalt installer doesn't install GCE by itself, you need to install GCE first, then update to Cobalt v7.1 as two separate installations. The link to GCE is included in the post above.

    Thanks -

    Sarah

  • Just a note for the GCE 3.1.2

In "About" in the GCE it says 3.0.2!

Made me confused when I installed it today.

  • 3.1.2 is the version of the installer package that has (among other things) GCE version 3.0.2 inside.

  • Are there any known issues updating a Cobalt 20 to 7.1?

We've just setup the new console, and I don't want to rock the boat if there are any potential problems.

We still have our Congo Senior. To be safe for installing 7.1 on it, can I install the mentioned GCE version without any issues?
I'm not sure what GCE if any, is currently installed so what to make sure I cover everything. Re-imaging is not something I want to do if I can avoid it.
