MacCongo

Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone knows when MacCongo v 4.2 is likely to be released ?

Don't want to confuse myself with 4.1 !

Also, is there any chance that the new version will run in a re-sizable window ? v4.1 defaults to full screen and is a pain - I hate to auto-hide the dock!

 Thanks for your help

Richard

  • Hi Richard -

I will get new a new beta version up on the Web site soon. This version will still use the whole screen. I'll post an announcement here when it becomes available.

As it's a beta, please send us your comments if you find any strange behavior in the software.

    Thanks!

  • Congo Offline Editor v4.2.1 for Macintosh  (Motorola and Intel Processors) is now available for download from the ETC Web site.

Click here and then click on the Downloads link at the top of the product page.

This is a Beta release, so if you see problems or strange behaviors when running this software, please let me know by email.

Also, please remember that this is Congo Offline Editor only - you cannot use a Mac as a client to Congo at this time. Since this is a beta release, please make a copy of your play file before editing it in this version, just in case.

    Thanks much!

    Sarah

Congo Offline Editor v4.2.1 for Macintosh Power PCs (Motorola Processor only) is now available for download from the ETC Web site.

    Hi all,

Just got my MacBook a few days ago and was wondering when or if you plan to release a Version for Intel-Macs as well?

I be adventures and try to install the win version with crossover on my Mac. I will keep you posted.

  • I will try to get a Power PC and MacIntel version out with version 4.3. Stay tuned!

    Thanks!

    Sarah

  • So what is the install (Congo (Intel).pkg then? It's in the file that I downloaded.
  • Oops - I have apparently misspoken. Motorola and Intel installers are included in the zip file.

    Sorry for the confusion!

  • Hello, we have had our congo for over a year now, just discovered the forums!

I was trying to edit my show via the mac offline editor on my mackbook and when I went to use insert, I found that apparantly insert for a mac is the only key which there is no key combo for. is there any way to currently access this feature?

    Thanks,
    Jon

  • Hi Jon,

Yes, it is possible. The HELP key on a Mac keyboard doubles as INSERT (not very intuitive but that is the way it works).

  • I suppose that makes sense...    Thanks for the help

    Hi Anders,

I don't know if I'm being particularly dense here or not but the HELP key on my Mac keyboard seems to do absolutely nothing in McCongo !

-Have tried just about every modifier I can think of...

I'm using a UK keyboard layout on a G5 iMac if it helps...

    Yours in confusion (again)

    Richard
  • Hi again,

It seems like there is a problem with INSERT on some Mac keyboards. We will have to solve this in some way when we generate a new Mac version. Currently, there is no deadline set for this so I cannot promise you when it will be fixed.

  • Oo--as long as you're reworking MacCongo: my PowerBook G4 has no HELP key.

I don't know how common this keyboard layout is among Macs, but I really hate not having INSERT available. Is there another key or key combination you could consider for the sake of us HELPless folks?

  • We will have to find an alternative button or key combination that will work on all Macs.
  • In the upcoming version 4.3.0 of the Congo Offline editor for Mac, we have added Command & DELETE as a shortcut for INSERT. This should work on all keyboards and INSERT will be logically connected with DELETE which should make it easy to remember.
  • Hi Anders,

Thanks for that, should make things a wee bit easier !

    Cheers

    Richard

  • Terrific!

Thank you, Anders! that will be very helpful.
