In Congo any button is a Midi note. I've done some testing and you can record it into a clip in Live and playback.

To be able to get output from a Preset or Sequence it must be on a playback. So the easiest way is to put the presets and sequences you want to trigger on masters. And if you need more then 80 masters, you have to change pages.

Another way would be to get MAX for Live and write a devices for it. http://www.ableton.com/maxforlive

Let me elaborate. We have our audio and midi software on a Pc and we wish to only play back presets and sequences triggered by the PC.

I programmed two sequences with a few simple presets, so far we have only managed to trigger the "Go" function on the board. We would like to know how we can trigger specific presets and specific sequences at any time.

Have you taken a look at the MIDI chapter in the user manual/help system? It explains all the MIDI mapping functions of the Congo including all the notes for every button on the console... I am not personally a MIDI expert, but I would start there to see if your coding is correct on the PC side. If you need more help, please let us know! You might also attach your show file so that we can see how you've got the console configured...

We certainly did check the manual, but it has been no help.

So far we can only trigger presets with the "go to". But we have had no luck triggering sequences or specific numbered presets.

And yes we did moved everything to the masters.

What kind of MIDI are you using?

• General MIDI - MIDI Notes and MIDI Controllers
• MIDI Show Control

We are using General MIDI, using the program FL STudio.

After playing around we managed to play back presets from the masters fine, unfortunately sequences that have been placed on the masters will not activate.

Are you sending the commands to set the master fader to 100% and sending a master key "go" press? Or are you just sending the key?

Couple of things that may be tripping you up:

The Master fader must be above 0% for you to see the result of stepping through a Sequence on a Master (at 0% it will still step on but the lights won't change)

When using General MIDI to control Congo keys, you have to send both a Note On for key down and a Note Off for key release.

Otherwise the console will be waiting for the key release. In the case of Master Keys, while the first "Note On" may work a second "Note On" will do nothing because the button is already being pressed!

It might help you to open up the Console Mimic Dock ( [Setup] & [Browser] ), as then you can usually see the button presses - though very fast Note On/Note Off might not show there.

So far we manage to control all faders on the master playback wing, but the "Go" presses on the assigned sequences are the only ones not registering.
