Full curtain shutters in A3D on a Custom Fixture Profile

I recently was working with the Elation Fuze Profile and had to correct the fixture profile in Eos to allow it to function correctly regarding shutters. Something I noticed though is that in A3D 100% is 'full shutter' but that only covers half of the beam, whereas in person, the Fuze profile has full-beam shutters, so 100% covers the entire beam. Is there any way to define this on a fixture profile that does not currently have a supported A3D profile?

I was hoping this might be in the physical data section, but it doesn't appear to be.

Thanks,

Ben

  • I've been able to hack this together previously by changing the Thrust Range from 0-100 to 0-200.

  • As usual,  has the answer.

With these fixtures that use Frame A/B 1 through 4, set the User Range to 0-200 on Frame A/B 1-4.

Then you *also* need to expand the range on Thrust A thru D.

These ranges are new to v3.0.0.

We can update the Fixture Library to make these full-curtain shutters "official".  Do you happen to know if all Fuze Profiles have full-curtain shutters?

Other ones we know about are Clay Paky Scenius Profile, GLP Impression S350, and High End SolaFrames, SolaHyBeam, and SolaWash

  • Brilliant, thank you both!

That would be great Matt. All of the Fuze Profiles do indeed have full-curtain shutters.

  • Elation Artiste Monets also have full curtain shutters.

  • Thank you!! I am doing pre-vis with Ayrton Diablos, which have full-beam shutters, and was just about to give up on trying to make this work. I could see that I needed to turn 100% into 200% but could not work out how or where to do this. You've saved me a lot of stress.
