xyz positions crazy when importing from sketchup

(i precise too that the origin is identic in sketchup and eos world)

i just found out the Position is in inch, still have to guess why, and why origins are inverted

to remain in my monologue, i guess it all come from sketchup: when i export a .dae file, i don't have so much export options, but when i export a .fob or .object file, it offers me to inverse Y/Z and in which unit i export. But in those formats i have issues with scale and else.... i'm looking now in sketchup forums.

but should some friend from etc confirm i can't parameter nothing in eos about it? thanks

I'm not too versed in the ways of SketchUp, but if the exported DAE is incorrect, there is not currently much that Augment3d can do for you to correct that. If you don't combine meshes on import and you have a hierarchy in the DAE, you could expand the model in Augment3d, move the pieces, and then recombine the item and see if that gives you what you are looking for...

thanks again, you were right. don't know what i was missing before, but when i "destroy" the hierarchy from sketchup, everything becomes normal again. Thanks a lot!

2 good things: switching from sketchup hierarchy to augmented one, i can now get my pipes origines on their middle, which is quite convenient to place fixtures; XYZ become straight between Position and World,and Position gives values in meters as augmented.

BUT i found out new problems: the object gets a X rotation of -90 and the scale switches from 1 to 0,0254. Seems it needs to do so to keep world position and dimension. they are still inches values somewhere plus a axis switch i guess. still don't know where to look for. Will keep on digging, just surprised it happens only to me when the .dae format is what advise eos to choose for import

Have you actually tried using SKP file format to go from SketchUp to Augment3d?

i've tried, it brings back all objects with a 0,0001scale factor on XYZ, which i can correct, but some objects (i think those with only one face) disappear in the import

I would go with the native format as there will be only one instead of two file conversions happening.

The scale you choose while importing, don't you? And the one-sided objects is this one: support.etcconnect.com/.../Imported_3D_Scenic_Models_Appear_Transparent-Invisible

Thanks, i missed indeed the scale factor in augmented...i just hadn't seen it. As it stops bothering me with the X rotation, i think you are right, 1 file conversion is the cleanest way, thanks a lot. I just have now to read the link. Thanks a lot, i lost lot of time with that
